Siren Song
They couldn’t be certain how long they’d been on the island. Time trickled slowly into the sea, washed away with each breaking wave. But suddenly, there he was. Their haunting siren song had finally lured a lonely sailor, desperately swimming towards them as if he’d just willingly walked the plank. He sat entranced, and they noticed the box clutched in his grip. As quick as an albatross in the wind, he was no longer the most coveted on the island — his treasure shined brighter than any seafaring man they’d ever seen. “Take the chest and send him back to sea,” they sung gently.
